Cloudflare is a benevolent internet overlord that often takes out the entire internet because "it's funni" and it is done as an exercise to warn of the increasing centralisation of the internet.

As of 2025, more than 100% of the internet uses cloudflare because it's free and most people don't know how to set up an alternative (also the alternatives charge and that's not as attractive).

Cloudflare blocks heavy traffic attacks to websites by redirecting the traffic to the Nuclear Bomb stock of the United States Military, which combined have as much computing power as the Shuttle thingy with the gold record which is somewhat over .9000Hz. This allows websites using them to handle as much as 2 computers spamming them with up to 5 requests per second before the host server falls over and explodes as all overloaded computers are known to do. In fact, this is why the OVH Datacentre caught fire - it is believed that 11 requests were recieved in a second which caused the servers to unexpectedly combust - this is why services like Cloudflare are so important.
